Summer gets an injection of Cream Pop courtesy of SMOOTH ENDS ‘SANTA ANA’

They first came to the attention of gig-goers and tastemakers with the release of their ‘Magic Johnson’ EP last year which was championed by Clash, Indie Shuffle and Sound Injections and went on to amass plays of over 200,000 on Spotify and Soundcloud. Around that time they were also short listed for the Glastonbury Emerging Talentcompetition out of thousands of acts, narrowly missing the top slot.

Having found each other through mutual friends in London, they are in fact from different corners of the world, from France to Florida to Chile and Argentina “We all share Latin roots. That’s why our music is so eclectic but always sunny.”

Their ability to write and expertly produce glistening pop gems is exemplified in this track ‘Santa Ana’. They describe their sound as cream pop and of the track, Kevin explains “Santa Ana is about an imaginary place where life approaches perfection, falling in love in a tropical paradise where everything is exactly as you would like it to be.”

An 80’s themed commercial style music video is shot and ready to drop end of August plus a remix is also in the works by psych-pop outfit Beach For Tiger.

To coincide with the release the lads will embark on a mini tour of Spain, starting off at surf festival Campeiras LIVE in Galicia, followed by a few dates around the country in Madrid, Bilbao, San Sebastian and more. Their own hugely successful ‘Smoof Night’ follows on the 28th of September at The Victoria in Dalston, London with free entry. Other live highlights include a tour of South America in October which includes a slot at Personal Fest, Argentina alongsideBreakbot, Cypress Hill, The Kooks and The Vaccines.
